HERITAGE PARK PARKING
RULES
August 13, 2008
Dear
Parents, Players, Coaches and Spectators:
By now you are
well aware of the parking issues at Heritage Phase II fields.
The Junior Football League of Westerville and the City would
like your cooperation in controlling the situation.
If an injury
were to occur that required Emergency Medical attention, it
would be extremely difficult to bring Emergency vehicles back to
the fields. We must keep the access road and non-marked areas
clear of vehicle traffic. While we know that it may be
inconvenient to park a little further away, we must have the
safety of the players be our primary concern.
Here are some
suggestions that may alleviate some of the gridlock:
- Try to
carpool if at all possible. When four cars per player come
to the games, it doesn’t take long for the spaces to fill.
There are approximately 120 marked spaces, which is 60 per
field. We are above the National standard in this regard.
- If you
must bring more than one vehicle per player, leave a little
earlier and use the Sports Complex or Community Center as an
alternate location. Everal Barn and Homestead is not
an option on September 9, 16 and 23 as there are paid
rentals at that facility that require parking for those
events.
- Listen
to the Special
Duty Police officer, League officials and Westerville Parks
and Recreation Department personnel. They are there to
assist with the situation. There is no reason for them to
receive abuse from parents, spectators or players.
- After your
game, please leave the Park as soon as possible. If you are
having a meeting or snack afterwards, think about having it
over at the Sports Complex or Community center lots.
We realize we
may never achieve an ideal situation with regards to parking,
but with your assistance we will make it through the season. The
Junior Football League of Westerville and the Westerville Parks
and Recreation Department would like to continue to partner in
bringing quality youth football to the residents of Westerville.
